Forest Gardens is home to a small community of people unified through shared values of compassion, cooperation, reciprocity, and trust. We live off-grid, share meals, govern by consent, and work the land together.

Short Term

Visit & Volunteer

Come for a few weeks. Experience the rhythms of off-grid life, help with the daily work, eat from the garden, sleep under the trees. This is the best way to get a feel for whether this life calls to you.

  • Typically 2–8 weeks

  • Room & board in exchange for contribution

Seasonal Team

Join the core team for a full growing season. You'll take on a defined stewardship role — from market garden to food forest to kitchen — and become part of the daily fabric of community life, including communal meals, weekly meetings, and decision-making.

Medium Term

Long Term Residency

For those who want to put down roots. After a trial period, become a foundational steward of Forest Gardens — taking on deeper responsibilities, contributing to governance, and building their own homestead within the larger landscape.

  • Contribution model: time and/or financial

  • Leasehold and cooperative structures
